Who are we?

We are a group of unlike-minded individuals, living around the inner Moray Firth – but also some further away, who want to make their own or joint way with creative thinking, practical skills and new or old technology to make innovative objects and devices. We aim to present this expertise via science festivals and workshops to help the public understanding of science and technology and to encourage community development using this knowledge.

Covid-19 Project

We are working hard using 3-D Printers owned by members of our Makerspace, local 3d printer owners and schools to 3d print PPE Visors, Face Mask Relief Straps and Door Dongles for NHS staff, Care Workers and other hardworking members of our Moray Community.

Several of our retired members own and use 3-d printers. Now unable to leave their homes as either they or their partners have underlying health conditions this has been a way they have been actively help during this challenging time. Those of us who are able to leave the home have been working hard to order/buy the materials necessary to make the visors including rolls of filament, acetate sheets and elastic.

In addition we have had the help of a number of schools and the use of their machines during the lockdown period and into the holidays in some cases. Local 3d printer owners have also rallied to the cause.
